Hey everyone. Just picked up my "new" 1966 Charger yesterday and I could use some advice. I'm going to need new rear light lens. Where's the first place to look? Ebay? Also the bumpers are both showing signs of age. Do I replace or re chrome? Generally good condition, just pitted. Working on the outside first. Thanks for any advice.

Welcome!

Bumpers: Hard to find. Replate what you have. I used Tri-City Plating Co. Inc. - Chrome Plating for the Tri-Cities and surrounding areas
They are at some of the major Mopar shows. Drop off your pieces, saving shipping. They stand behind their work.

In this thread, you can see my bumpers, before and after. 1966 Charger restoration projects - before and after

Taillight lens: I suggest PG Classic. They often have sales, wait for one. PG Classic - Dodge and Plymouth Restoration Parts
There are other options.

Welcome from NY.
I would recommend AMS obsolete for the bumper rechrome. They did my front and it's perfect.
They are are also the least expensive.

Looks like a "shaker" model

more info on your charger please.

Seeing a lot more first generation Chargers coming out of hiding these days! Welcome to the site!

Welcome to FBBO! Even with "Double Vision" your Charger looks good :D

Probably because 2 gens are all snatched up and very expensive. First gens are still reasonable, so to speak.
Well I still maintain if you want best quality, it is before 1968. Not nearly as much cost cutting and plastic.
Good thing they are still affordable, but don’t have many cookie cutter parts. First car to go 150 mph in races.

Welcome from Alabama, nice Charger. They can be pricey to restore, but then again any restoration isn't cheap. You are ahead of the game if the headlights are rotating and the dash and instrument lights are good.
