Charger SE Hood Ornament

Just checked my 72 parts book, no hood emblem listed. Nov 72 issue. must have had a few sneak out or like you mentioned a few early 73's got the 72 style hood to use them up.

I'm thinking it was probably a little of both.

I bought a new Charger SE in 1976. It had the SE ornament with the Wreath. I remember replacing it a few times because the thieves thought it was neat. It was on a spring loaded cable so it could pivot if hit but even with the inside hood latch was no match for someone who wanted it. I gave up after buying 3 or 4 of them.

The Ram trucks that came with the "Ram head" ornament always had that problem. I live in a rural town so luckily after 33 years I still have my original ornament on my truck.

Btw, back in the mid-90's i had bought one from the Dodge dealer for a Christmas tree ornament. I haven't seen it in years, lol

Funny you mention those spring loaded emblems, I had a 78 Cordoba that was my donor for the Charger bb swap and was going to save the hood ornament but too much work to remove it. So I peeled off one of the fender emblems instead.
