originally it was painted gloss black

I'm cleaning up my Dana and it's going Satin Black. I don't know if they were gloss black or not from the factory or not. I did that on a 70 RR that went for OE judging and that wasn't on the list of things considered wrong. To me gloss on the underside would be to much. It's yours do what makes you feel good.

I agree with DVW, Looks good and cleans easy! Clean, clean, clean, wipe, wipe, scrub!

to say anything.

Did mine in gloss vht chassis black. Factory they were gloss. I found old paint remnants and was surely gloss. However, any black will show nicely i guess it is a matter of preference.

I think they are both satin black. At least that's what Eastwood's product page said.

The Mopar chart I have from one of my magazines says semi gloss black, I was just wondering for my own build is that the same as satin black?

I think it goes gloss, semi-gloss, satin, matte, flat in that order. So, no, semi-gloss is shinier than satin.
