I was in the position of having a 3 speed wiper equipped car with a 2 speed switch installed. Replacements are non existent or expensive. Too rich for my blood as it rarely rains in SW AZ. So I looked around at other 3 speed switches and found one that works with 68-70 B Bodies with rocker switches.......for about $50 NOS. Until people start buying them up now lol.

It does require some basic mods to the case....

Here is what I found. #2664186 which was listed as a 1968 C body 3 speed switch. Same harness setup as B Bodies. Check it out...same everything except the top. So I gambled and bought it.

Ok, lets get started. Use a roll pin punch and remove the switch from both units. The rocker assembly has a brass spring. Next, get a dial caliper and measure the old one and transfer markings to new one. I held the switch in my vise with wood and cut with a hacksaw. If you have a mill, I hate you! LOL, but it would be super easy to make these cuts. Plug the opening with some cotton to keep metal shavings out. The long sides have to be trimmed straight down to the angle...

And the top has to get trimmed...

Now, after I test fit everything the toggle was hitting on this tab keeping it from the 3rd position so I filed it down...

And I assembled it. I put dielectric grease on the arm before install and set the roll pin that holds the rocker switch. A perfect 3 positions!!!

And with the wiring hooked up.The 2 single spade fittings are for a brown wire and the one with the tab is for the brown w/ white trace.

Took me about 30 minutes to do and saved a bunch of money. And it looks factory. So, no need to get a loan to have 3 speeds. Hope this helps some folks out.

Well done.
I have often taken the back off switches by bending back the peened over corners, and replaced the internal contacts from another similar switch.

At work, and in cars.
