Cheater Slicks!

I have a set of 16"X5" maybe 5'5" that take the large cap. They are mint (I have 4 or maybe 5 of them)
and for sale. I used early-mid 60's Studebaker wheels on my '65. The rims are 5 on 4'5" bolt pattern and
are 15X4.5" wide. The have the bumps on them for the large (10") cap. The center of these rims also fit inside the 15X8 hoops/shells/rings that Speedway sells.

I never thought of the Studebaker option. That's great to know, thanks.

Here's what my (old ones) look like:

Funny, I used to have E-T vintage V 15x4 and black steelies rear with pie crust cheater slicks.

Today I have the larger cap 15" steel wheels all around (rear wided to approx. 7") with Radir/MT 8.20-15 cheaters rear.

Stay Cool,
Anders

Anders your car is fricken awesome. that's totally the look im going for! I wish mine was a sedan! I appreciate the side view with the E-T vintage V. cool to see what it will look like! For the rear tires, did you find a 15x5.5 and put the core into a speedway wheel shell? or did you just widen the 5.5 to 7 inches?

Thanks man! They are A100 OEM wheels 15x5.5 with large caps and rear they are winded to 7" (by a specialist who only do this kind of jobs), front still 5.5 with Firestone bias ply 7.10-15. It wouldnt hurt to massage the the front wheels 1" to 15X4.5.

Good luck with your build. Nice wheels and tires combos kicks ***.

Would you still have your ET's and want to sell them by any chance?

Unfortunately they are sold. I am from Sweden also - the shipping quote wouldnt be that funny.
I always had my eyes at the magnesium american racing 5 spoke 15X4 but they are too expensive and maybe not a wheel for street driving - more of a show wheel.

The ET vintage V is an awesome wheel and will not totally destroy your economy either.

I've actually been to Sweden (and the rest of Scandinavia) many times and will be going back in the new year. Is there a large old car scene there? Ive seen a few When I was in Stockholm and Malmö and also quite a few in Oslo during the summer months. I agree that the old AR 5 spoke mags are the best but just way too much money. I think I would cry if I cracked one on a pot hole in the road. The ET seem to be the closest looking.

Wops, thats crazy. Maybe they are cheaper in gold...
Vintage V will be awesome. Would be great If you get the hole wheel in same ruff surface as the spokes have. Would look pretty much like the old unpolish magnesium wheels.

Yees. PM me. The sound of 681 hp crossram hemi is worth a visit if you are in the neighbourhoods.

If they are anything like the Hurst pie crust slicks you will have to get them hot as hell to make them hook. This was our combo on steel cop wheels. The weight was insane.

That looks awesome. I'm putting mine on steelies in the back with ET wheels vintage V (15x4) up front. Won't happen until spring for me because the car is in storage for the winter.
Just purchased the 15 x 4" Vintage V's. Can't wait til they get here. Plan on painting the centers more of a dark magnesium (flat) color than they come in. They'll match the rears on the "FRUSTRATION" photo. I think I used VHT on them...cause I had it. Did you get them mounted up yet??

I agree with painting the centers darker. I may do the same. A buddy of mine did that with his torq thrusts and it looked killer. Did you go for the satin lip or polished? I haven't mounted the Radirs yet. I'm just collecting parts over the winter while it's in storage. What was your wait time on the ETs for manufacturing and delivery, did they tell you?

Their customer service leaves some room for improvement. I haven't spoken to anyone, but received an order confirmation. Said they'd "process the order after Thanksgiving". My buddy just ordered a set of four ET wheels from them and we're completely satisfied with their quality. I'd post pics, but he put them on his 68 Chevelle. This is not the place for that blasphemy! I have all winter so not a big deal on the delivery. The 15 x 4" are one-piece and are supposed to be in stock. I got the mag wheel style lug holes and polished rims with "as cast" centers. Wheels make the car!! I needed these.

View attachment 371804 just got my Radir 15x8.2 cheater slicks in today! Can't wait for this damn Canadian winter to be over so I can mount them. On that note, I'm still looking for some pre-67 15x5.5 steel mopar wheels if anyone has a pair (A100 van type).
I have the same pair on my 62 look great as for the rims I used a pair from a studibaker they were 15x4.5 look great and I can use the poverty caps
