Pricing looks good from a buyers standpoint..... Not so good for the seller.

Well from this, looks like my old trucks and the chevelle are going to pay off. I'll only break even on the satellite. Ah hell theyre not for sale anyway.

I have to say it looks pretty realistic to me.
Reminds me of the "Old Cars Price Guide" before the stopped paying attention and accounting for options and listing every hemi car as "inestimable".

I like the % additions for options, but some are wrong (440-4 in a 70 Super Bee), and some common and desireable ones missing (no Rallye 318 73 Challenger, no fold down seat in A body)

I've been paying fairly close attention to the market lately, and I pretty much agree with all the models I looked up.

When I say "realistic", I don't think you can include those 95+ point show cars, even at #1, and any highly moded cars are definately not covered.

Shoulda bought that 65 no rust Max Belvedere for $8500.
This guide lists it as 14K as a #5!!!!!

they are way off i'd say.

64 dodge 330 2dr post, #1 condition, 383 v8 = $12,500.

same car Max Wedge = $75,000

But a 64 polara max wedge is $90,000

I only follow a few cars very closely so my only comment is on this one model.

I thought the same thing for the early car values. They seemed very low. Values for the late 60s, early 70s cars looked to be reasonable.

Not very accurate in prices or info. They deduct 5% for a 340 in a 72 RR when Mopar made more 400 cars than 340's. The HP ratings are all wrong and the #1 value for a 78 Lil Red Express isn't even close to what the real value is of those trucks.

Of the few cars I looked at it seems OK to me.

looked at it with some of the cars i have and it seemed low on some and about close on others.

My 63 Dodge with a max wedge 426 motor and Polara trim is in #3 or better condition and is worth $50K............. I guess, so I am giving it away at $25K!:headbang:

I wonder were the line is drawn between #4 and #3 I put my car in the #4 spot but reading the description of the #3 it may qualify. Hard to say - who would really determine something like that?

Interesting that it says both my 318 3rd gen Chargers are worth more than my 66 383 car??
Hmmmmm.....

I would say the prices are about 30% low. The 66-67 B bodies are the up and coming cars, why? Everything else has been priced out of reach they are finally getting their due respect.
Just watch and see what happens in the next couple of yrs. Satellites, Belvederes and Coronets are gonna be the next big gold rush in the collector car world..

It seemed pretty accurate given what my research has yielded over the last few months on 71-72 Roadrunners. It's actually dead on the exact offer I was going to draw the line at for a #4 car. I actually agree that they deducted points for the 340 and left the 400 alone. While there may have been fewer 340's made, on the market, the 400 is still more desirable and that seems to be what they're getting at here. What the market will bear.

Hmmm, I disagree with that. It may have been marketed that way when new, but everyone I've ever known prefers the 340 over the 400, given the chioce with other options being equal.

I'm sure you're right, but I dont' think it's a question of what is necessarily more desirable, so much as what the current buyers in this current market are willing to pay. While the 340 may be a more desirable engine, who is buying? A person interested in the overall scarceness and collectability of a vehicle or some new to the hobby kid that sees bigger numbers?

Bigger numbers? Hardly, most people realize the 340 will dust a 400 nine out of 10 times. That's usually the most important factor when buying a Mopar..

You're both right, I imagine it's hard to be completely spot on though with these as it seems based solely off of sales and there are so many more factors affecting final price than what can accurately be reflected here. Do either of you feel as though it's at least in the ballpark? Like a decent general guideline, or do you feel it's completely off base?
