May sound like a silly question but is there a easy way to check to see if a motor mount or the transmission mount is broken? Jacking up the engine (under the pan)? When I put the car in reverse I feel a clunking noise (not like u-joints) almost a severe slow bouncing vibration....hard to describe. Thanks.

It seems that almost every car I've ever owned had made a clunking sound when going into R a lot more so then D. I would think if it's a motor mount, the left side would go first as that's the one that takes the most torque. The only real way to check mounts is to put the car in gear and brake torque it with someone watching the motor to see if it lift's abby normally[think RC/DH] high. Tranny, you'd have to crawl under and look for crushed/ worn rubber. Good Luck
