Hey everyone. My 67 coronet came with a later model 1 piece 4 speed plastic console. I have a correct fiberglass 2 piece console but it's auto. I think it should be a pretty easy job to template and cut out my auto console for 4 speed jump, just checking if anyone has done before and if there is a reason why it wouldn't work.
Sorry if my garage carpet is too sexy for you to handle.

Cheers!
Wes

In related news I'll have a 4 speed one piece console for sale, normal crack at back top and the center screw mount bracket has been broken off and repaired back on.

66 was the last year for the 2 piece console in the Coronet and Satellite.

I'm pretty sure a 67 Coronet would have a 1 piece console.
this is why we ask before we cut... any reference material on that? I've seen both now that I'm doing some more research. Most date codes on my car are 66 FYI. So it was an early 67, not sure if that matters.

Not sure of an exact change over date, but I'm sure that 4-speed console you have will be fine for any 67 B body.

I don't have a reference besides what i've seen. I suppose it's possible for an early 67 to have a 66 2 piece console if the factory had left overs to get rid of. I have an early 67 parts car that had metal k frame spash shields when most 67's had plastic ones.

Both of the 2 piece consoles that I can lay my hands on right now are automatic ones. I'm sure I have another somewhere, I just can't locate it right now

1966 consoles were 2 piece. That is so Mopar could put the long extension on for Charger, and the short one for Coronet and Belvedere. In 1967, Charger no longer had the long console, due to rear seat accessibility problems, so all lines got the short 1-piece console. My 1967 R/T is November, 1966 build, and has 1-piece console.

Ok, that makes sense. I thought 67 chargers still had the long extensions out back, thus why I thought coronet would still be 2 piece. Since they stopped doing those in 67 chargers it makes sense. Thank you!

Agreed on leftovers. Since I know the one piece that's in it isn't original I'll just leave it instead of swapping out to the 2 piece which seems less common. Mine also has the metal splash shields.
