Slowly getting it apart. Hopefully within 3 to 4 weeks we can actually have everything off the car and start preparing to repair the body.
And you are correct, the vin doesAlways nice to have.
Just make sure it's actually for your car.
Seems to have been common for the line workers to grab a seat that matched their copy of the build sheet, and not care if the sheet inside the seat matched, IE it could be for a different car with the same interior.
I pulled the bottom of the backseat out yesterday found a paper, numbers did not match. Today I finished pulling out the backseat top half and found another piece of paper in great shape and the numbers match the car!Always nice to have.

Yes this one is in great shape, everything is legible. It looks to be in even better shape too. Congrats!
I found a second sheet attached to the back rest of the backseat today. In great shape and #'s match!I've had three like that.
Talk about an emotional roller coaster.
My 73 had a non-matching sheet under the rear seat.
Fortunately, it also had a second set of sheets under the front seat.
One of those was correct for the car and there were some bonus sheets that no one seems able to explain.
The biggest kicker is that on those sheets, they are stamped with my birthday, which also jives with the SPD and the block casting date. Making for very strong evidence that my car and I share a birthday!
Thank you, we have the car just about down to the shell. Looking forward to actually getting to the repairing stage. Need to do some work on the garage so we can work in it this winter.Glad to see another 73 on here, looking forward to more updates!
