Saturday October 17th meet at West Texas A&M at 11 AM and depart around 11:30. Arrival in the canyon around noon. We will set up the show and shine in the amphitheatre parking lot. The same one used for the prodution of the play "Texas".

Yes it's in Texas and one of the biggest surprises to non-residents of the area. Palo Duro Canyon provides breathtaking beauty only about 20 miles from the flatlands you see driving through on Interstate 40.
No water crossings need be crossed for this event and a parking lot for trailered cars at the First United Bank Center of West Texas A & M in Canyon TX will allow you to unload and enjoy the 20 mile drive in your baby if you wish to cruise to the canyon with us.
There is no cost to participate in this event except the reduced park entry fee of $2 per person (normally $5). There will be a show and shine with the coveted "Park Ranger's Pick" award and plenty of wonderful photo ops with astonishing backdrops. This is a first anual event so if you would like to be part of history and start a new tradition of Mopar Madness halfway between the coasts please come and join us!
We will be cooking out so you can bring food and cooking equipment or just food to be cooked. There is also a gift shop with restaurant in the canyon. Local club members will be happy to drive you around the canyons winding roads if you have a supernice ride that doesn't do wet spots in the roads that are further into the park.
If you plan on joining us please reply to this post with the number of cars and people you are bringing. We want to do dash plaques and awards but need a good count before we can get things locked in. Sorry for the short notice but our local events have been snowballing. More contacts and info are available at http://amarilloareamopars.com or email Lance at [email protected]

Huh-Huh you said Palo Duro that would be a helluva show tho!!

Thanks guys for checking us out! We have had several donations for prizes and should have dash plaques for the first 50 cars (or more) that will look like the bottom image in the original post above. We'd love to have any or all of you show up. Interest is picking up on a progressive scale and this looks to be the first of a traditional event for years to come!

Lots of great looking old Mopars. Hope the Canyon thing goes great for you guys. Good Luck

We had an awesome turnout and were similarly blessed with perfect weather (mid 70s, sunny skies, no wind). This is definitely going to be something we do every year, probably on the 3rd weekend of October. I am working on a webpage to promote the event and will bump this thread when it is complete. Here are some shots mguner posted in the general section of this forum:
