Talked to classic air about a new system to replace my old one. They expressed interest in my old heater/ac box, control panel and clutch. My question is this stuff together is heavy and id think shiping will be costly. What do you think were talking about as far as with credit they would offer-----Thanks

What make and model of car? I would put it up here for sale with buyer paying shipping and see what interest you get. Always someone looking to keep car original. I paid them to restore my AC/Heater box and controls and it wasn't cheap.

What is the advantage in replacing the original unit with an aftermarket one. I can see and have installed many aftermarket systems in vehicles that did not originally have air, but if it had factory heat and air I repair those. In my opinion a b-body can stand the extra weight and you could also install a compressor cut out switch when you want full power wide open throttle.

69 sport satellite. Everything is shot as far as the AC goes. The heater box needs repair and the core is bad. God only knows the last time the unit worked. My thoughts were to replace it with one complete unit and thats why im considering Classic. I have no idea what the thing could be worth

No telling. But it seems that fixing your original system might not be too costly. The box can be patched up with epoxy and maybe some fiberglass form the inside, the evaporator can be repaired for maybe $60.00 and the heater core might not be that much new. The rest is just cleaning, a foam kit and more cleaning! Lube cables and controls. People would be surprised how much a thorough cleaning and greasing would improve many things on a car and cost only time and $5.00 worth of soap.

Classic has been fool proof (me fool) and ice cold for ten years. I've been to the shop in Tampa. They have a huge inventory and are probably always lookiing for factory stuf. Mine is a non-ac car orginally. They were working on several HR Power Tour cars when I was there.
