I respect your opinion but I have owned and driven 38 vehicles in my lifetime from just about every manufacturer at some point to include 3 chevys. I had a 79 Camaro Z28, 86 Camaro IROC, and a 88 Chevy 1/2 ton pickup. All three of them were absolute junk. Electrical issues mainly. After that experience I will NEVER own or restore another Chevrolet in my lifetime. Mopar has been much better to me, never been let down by a dodge (Or a ford truck for that matter). Ford cars on the other hand are right up there with all chevrolets.

I guess I could see why some others would enjoy fixing and restoring chevrolets, I was just speaking from my personal experience and im sorry if I offended anyone. Ill take ANY chrysler product over ANY chevy product any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

my .02

You're still kinda missing the point here son. It's not about wether or not you like Chevrolets. It was more about the quality of the restoration parts that will be offered by a company that is known for Chevrolet reproduction parts. You might want to take into account that it's millions of dollars of Chevrolet restoration part sales that have allowed this company to expand into Mopar territory. But, seeing how you don't like chebbies and think they are garbage, will that information now affect your buying decision?

I will of course defer to your expertise as I have not owned as many vehicles as you. Nor do I have personal experience with the three fine examples of the Chevrolet product line with which to base my opinion the entire brand.

Please, in no way think that I was or am upset. If you met my ex wife, you would know that there is no way anyone could offend me.

Well, im not getting into a pissin match with anyone about cars, Ive had a LOT of old cars, ive worked on them all and ive loved most of them. MOPARS are at the top of my list, they always were but i will not bash a Chevy lover. To save regret i wont say anything about the other major brand name, Ive had 4 of there trucks had problems with two of them. i also had one 80 4-4 3 quarter ton bowtie that i liked and was good. still running with the original paint job doing a LOT of snow plowing right now. 69 RR was the top of my list but loved them all. I cant hide the fact that i like a 63 Impala SS I had two of them very nice car but when i got my first MOPAR , a 67 Dodge Charger, it was like jumping from a VW to a Limo. I love old cars period! MOPAR just more class, my brother in law used to tell me, i had a 69 RR he had a 72 Camaro, and it would run, but he would never go against that RR.. and for sake of argument, im not upset, just agreeing-dis-agreeing..ya know "car guy talk"

I once was blind, but now I see. An original chevy manufacturer now producing Mopar parts...(May not be the best parts).

As far as brands, I will NEVER fault anyone on their choice of vehicle, everyone has their own opinion and their own likes and dislikes. I was just saying on my own personal level that I dont like Chevys just like there are those that hate fords. They are not wrong that is just their opinion based on their experience. I was just trying to illustrate that through my experience with all sorts of brands, the one that was the most troublesome to me...was chevy.

But I do love all cars (just wont ever see me in a chevy :))

now lets get back to the car ****

worse trouble for me? Olds, GM like Chevys.. Go figure... every time, i mean every time.

One of the best cars I ever owned was a 72 Buick GS455 (4spd, convert). The most reliable cars I have ever owned are my DD 69 Valiant and my 76 GMC Sierra Grande (got it for free, threw in a motor I had lying around and have beat it stupid for 8 years). My first car was a 69 Charger. My ongoing project is my 73 Roadrunner. I fed and clothed my girls working on Chevies. I learned a long time ago, in a way that I regret, not to bag on someones ride. It may just be their dream ride or have HUGE sentimental value to them.

Before I got my Roadrunner I owned a 69 Cutlass. It choked on it's own timing chain two months after I bought it. The motor hated it's spiffy new adjustable rocker arms after the rebuild. Two years later, it got killed by a drunk biimbo in a Durango. (Message from the Mopar gods?).

Im planning on a trip with my son in a few weeks to pick up my '73 roadrunner from my fathers house and bring it back here, I think I am pretty decided on parting it out to get some money for my 74 satellite 4 door. I'll let everyone know when I get it here and if there is anything you are looking for Rev just PM me and Ill set it aside special for you.

Well i believe it just comes back to real performance and the luxury is a MOPAR, hands down, i don't bash folks but wouldn't you rather drive a MOPAR.. yea i know its said with Buick but they really meant MOPAR and i just know it. :)

There's nothing wrong with owning a GM or Ford...They both made/make great cars. If not, well...they sure wouldn't be making them anymore and people wouldn't waste their time bringing the old ones back to life..I as well prefer mopars myself, but sure wouldn't hesitate to jump on a 58' Impala or a 57' Fairlane. Frankly I find it annoying talking with the one car or no car guys and is one of the main reasons's I quit taking my cars to car shows. It comes off as arrogance and ignorance no matter what brand they're gwaking about. It's honestly help me better understand, troubleshoot and improve my mopars by having insight into some of Fords and GM's engineering.

On another note, it is nice to have another source for parts. And like Stu said, hope the shipping is better than Year One's. Last time I called down there they wanted $200 bucks to ship partial rear rails......Yikes!!

Hey Will, i have a buddy in Green Bay with a 57 (maybe 56) crown vic that's for sale...PM if you interested! (not a joke!! i haven't seen it, but knowing this guy, it's tip top)

Holy smokes Mario....really??? Hopefully I wouldn't need to sell my soul for it..did that a long time ago-already received my room key for the inferno hotel :angry4:

Well, only a couple of those were my fault...the EX-wife totalled the Challenger while I was deployed. My brother totalled the '91 Dakota (I was passenger, he was driving me home from a bar).

I blew the engine in the '79 camaro at the dragstrip (#3 rod through the oil pan)

I blew the 360 in the '75 Fury highway racing when I was 17

I totalled the subaru on base in Japan while I was wearing Chem 4 gear (Hit the gas instead of the brake) Was still driveable but headlights were jacked and MPs said I couldnt drive at night so I drove to junk yard.

The 89 F-150 I totalled because I was young, stupid, and driving too fast

The tranny in the Taurus blew....well because it was a 87 Taurus and they all blew.

Havent totalled a car or blew an engine or tranny since about 22 so I got a pretty good streak going, hope to not do another one anytime soon.

I'll contact my buddy and see if he's got any pics...he's a reasonable guy, i don't think he wants crazy $$$ for it. i let y'all know!!!

BOT

Your wife circles stuff? Thats incredible! I have wave the UPS driver down at the end of the block, and sneak up the alley with my parts lol.

LOL! She does all the ordering and I help with the install. I figured Year One prices would go through the roof since The Paddock closed. This may keep them in check.

hope there shipping charges are better then year one

Agree'd 100%

If they can build a complete car from stocked parts, it makes it a better source. We've gotten parts from Classic for our '68 olds and were happy with the parts. I think they will be a great option for repro parts.
