Clear Coat Question

Did the original clear coat in 1974 for a road runner go over the emblems and stripes?

Paint in 74 was single stage so there was no clear coat. Stripes never were cleared over from the factory.

Thanks. My car seems to have been repainted correctly then. I was wondering because nothing protects the decals. But on the other hand, they are easy to replace if damaged
