Cloudy 69 Charger Grill Trim

Years ago I bought all new chrome trim to restore the grill on my 69 Charger. It has been stored in a box since I purchased it. Pulled it out today to start the restoration of the grill, and found that all of the trim now has a cloudy finish. Is this normal, and just requires some chrome polish, or do I need to chemically treat the new chrome?

Sounds like it was never anodized. So polishing it may be an option. Used a good aluminum polish.
