Just installed a new pressure plate in my GTX build , should I install the over center spring or not ? Pedal seems hard to push . Help.

Speaking from experience, if you have the over center spring on a diaphragm clutch it’ll cause problems
I have heard that the pedal could possibly stay on the floor when hammering on it if the spring is left installed. That wouldn't be cool....^What dadsbee said^

Were you 'side stepping' the clutch when you were breaking all that other stuff? lolIn 67, 68, and 69, I was destroying stock Mopar clutches left and right. I went to a friend's speed shop and bought a Zoom clutch kit which he helped me install. I never removed the over the center spring and had 0 problems with that setup. While adjusting the clutch, I was in the car to make sure it felt right. I told my friend that this clutch wasn't going to last a good foggy morning as it was so easy to push as opposed to the Mopar 3 finger. That clutch was still in the car when I sold it in 71. The clutch was no longer the weakest link. After installing that clutch, I twisted driveshafts, spread yokes, and broke U joints, but no more clutch problems. I also broke the 1st 2nd shift fork in the 23 spline 4-speed from slamming gears, but still no clutch. I wish I had that one back.
They play tug of war with each other and you can’t get it to releaseI have heard that the pedal could possibly stay on the floor when hammering on it if the spring is left installed. That wouldn't be cool....
Nope, never side stepped a clutch in my life and I didn't use it hardly any after launch on the drag strip. Just a blip of the gas petal when shifting. That's probably what got the shift fork. Were you 'side stepping' the clutch when you were breaking all that other stuff? lol
