Would like to keep my column shifter, currently 318 auto. Switching to 400/727. There is a linkage for 727 available, but The add states might have clearance issues with Headers. Any of you see this problem? What headers did you use.

What car are we talking about? When I put headers on my 72 Satellite (original 318) I had to ditch the column and go with a floor shifter. There was no way headers would work with column shift. This was about 20 years ago, so maybe some new header/column linkage designs are available, but back then, it was only option.

I just swapped a 318/904 with a 440/727 in a '68 Coronet column shift. I used the original 318/904 shift linkage and have TTI headers. I may have used a different final rod to the trans, I can't remember. I still haven't driven it yet though to put it through its paces. I also used the stock 727 3 piece kickdown linkage without issue.

Thanks for the info

Go to hedmans web sight or I think you can also use Jegs or summit , look up your header set and then follow the link for a PDF file for installation instructions.
I remember they showed flipping the bell crank at the fire wall bottom/lower and drilling a hole in it.
I was looking at them before I found my used set of shumacher TriYs , no mods with them.

I used a TORQUE SHAFT ASSEMBLY from TTI. This was on a 77 Cordoba with 400. I did have to do a few modifcations to get it to work. Your results may vary.
