the competition shock instructions and actual markings on the shocks are confusing at best. You really need to push/pull on the shocks as superstockracer said. I put the top of my shocks in a vise to hold the end and went around the settings a couple times to find the desired 90/10 setting for drag racing. I don't recall weather they claim its r or xf.
Whichever is the easiest to pull up on,use as the setting. These shocks are very inexpensive and not very good for drag racing expecially on a pretty fast car.they don't react quick enough on extention and there compression is marginal at best.
I used the setting on the box for 90/10 front. Sometimes it pulled out harder than other times. A second setting felt close to the same & the third was super tight. I went on an installed them anyway. Again based on the box instructions for 90/10. The car slowed down & the 60 ft got worse. Not a fan of these. I took them off & put my worn out old Gabrile's back on as they extened super easy. Made 1 pass spun the tires & broke the converter. So hopefully I can get it back to the track soon. If my 60's return to normal I'm going to sell these Comp shocks. When I orderd them the guy tried to talk me out of them. I should have listened.
