concrete

I use a 3 cu. ft. mixer. Unit of measure 5. gal. bucket, 1/2 bucket Portland type 3, 1 bucket clean sand & 1-1/2 bucket 3/4" to 1" clean rock. Mix dry ingredients first add water to make a mix that just churns in the mixer. Water content will vary as my sand never seems to have the same moisture content. I have tried larger rock but the small mixer just doesn't handle it well. This mix allows space in the mixer for adjustments if I get to much water in it. If you use premix early high strength wash the mixer out between mixes or the previous batch residue will harden in the mixer while the new one is mixing. Lots of hard work but way cheaper than small load fees and I have to finish my own concrete, definitely do not need yards of it at one time.

Somewhere I have a recipie for a great mix that you add Fly-Ash to. It's supposed to be the best for Pads. I'm looking

Looks like the easiest way to do this is by ordering the load from the ready-mix company. can't find my notes!
