Console auto shifter options?

I could be wrong but isn't that a Cordoba/ Magnum shifter. Thats different. Does it ratchet like a slapstik? Man, you guys kill me with interiors in your car. Mines stripped, waiting on a top and headliner. 80 degree weather and garage bound.

That shifter did come from a 75 and up B-Body. All of the 71-74 B's came with the t-handle slapstick. As far as the round woodgrain ball shifter being for 70 E-Bodies, my dad was the original owner of a 74 Challenger Rallye that had the woodgrain ball shifter in it from the factory. I have seen other 74 E-Bodies with the ball shifter and it was very clear they were original to the cars. My theory is that Mopar was ending the E-Body in 74 and just used up leftover parts on the shelf.

what would i need to swap that out for the pistol grip shifter?

Total noob question... but what is a slapstick in a Mopar? I'm right in guessing that it is the ability in "D" to move the stick and switch gears without a manual clutch, yeah? Can someone give me the lowdown on this? I'm seeing the "shift-r-gate" plate at Duncan Motorsports, but a little unclear on how my transmission would work if I installed it...

The shifter gate is a push u or down to get into gears 1st 2nd and drive will just slide foward once you get the stick all the way back
u can also get the reverse manual style from him if you have a reverse manual valve body

As for any aftermarket shifters that fit under the factory console? I was looking at a hurst quarter stick?

I found a 71 shifter mechanism w/ brackets on FEBO, it was shipped out today. Next step is ordering the pistol grip handle!

Moparstuart has the green shifter? It is so beautiful...much better than the blah shifters I've seen...boy he did a really neat thing putting that puppy on. Marl:spider_3:

Im sure everyone remembers these, Id like to find one of these that works on the slap stick auto.. Ive been considering the pistol grip myself, and Stuarts is one good looking one..
