Mine came with one so it is staying but they do take a little foot room away. If I could go back in time and test drive both I would probably order without a console.

Charger, R/T or GTX are okay with a console. I like a Road Runner or Super Bee without them. In an E-Body, no console 4 speed is the only way to go.

yea. My car is a painted shell for now. Just finishing up the suspension. You're right, now would be the time to install the brackets and plan....with or without

My first '69 GTX was black buckets with console. This GTX is camel tan split bench with no console. (Both 4-speed) And there is where I would make the decision. Console yes with bucket seat interior. Console no with split bench. The one thing I do like about no console? Mopar's muscle car era consoles are not the best quality built? It's kinda nice not having to deal with it?

bucket's with out the console dose look out of place to me. It was my idea to put the console in when restoring this car. Had it in my dodge charger with slap stick automatic shifter. So guess that drove me to the console with the four speed. The shifter was a hunt but found it at Tony's. Was not cheap and had the chrome redone. Hurst shifter. Now that it is in the car look's grate. It is your car and know it is a hard choice for sure. So make it like you want it.

On the e body the console sucks! It’s plastic and cheap looking but on the b body the console looks beautiful with the floor lights, the trim and it’s useful because you actually can put stuff in there. If it was my b body I’d put it on

The consoles look nice, but don't add much function, and you loose a bit of foot room near the accelerator pedal.
Maybe a custom or modified one would be nice if it has cup holders. Sort of a pain in the neck trying to drive a stick while holding a drink.

I had a '70 Cuda 4sp w/o the console then my next was a '73 Challenger auto w/ console. Agree not a whole lot with the console; but remember it seemed like I sat so near to the floor in those rides the consoles were low profile. Each their own of course, but the console looked nicer IMO.
