console tach wiring

Hi everyone. Got a question for you all.
My tach is running pretty high. How should you properly wire the console tach.
should it not connect to the + on the coil, ground, ignition?
I have a dodge coronet rt. 67.
No msd ignition box, so I don't think I need an adaptor.
Just msd distributor and blaster 2 coil.

No, this is poorly documented in the manual.

should be

black ground
orange dash lamp
dark green coil NEG
violet switched power
