Another NO SPARK thread...

don't run it too long with the condenser wire unhooked just to test it. will burn the points. when you say going up hill it might not be enough fuel like a plugged fuel filter. check to see if you have fuel by watching the accelerator pump before you try to start.

UPDATE:

She lives.
Trying to find a condenser in the "spare parts black hole" I found a pertronix electronic ignition (I had absolutely no idea I had it - or why), so why not to test it?

Replaced everything and the spark is as bright as it can be, she fired up and I went for a quick drive around, all good.
Thank you SO MUCH for all the help here.

Now to sort kickdown and many other things....
 
Good to hear you got it running.. Something common to the big block engines is excessive wear of the fuel pump push rod. Something you may want to check before you have problems. Many threads here if you search that topic.
