Pan was leaking in my 727 so i decided to pickup a new deep factory pan and reusable gasket from the Dodge dealer. After cranking the motor around a few times i'm pretty certain my converter either has no drain plug (it's a 4000 rpm stall, but dont know the make). Any recommendations on draining the converter short of pulling the trans?Fluid was pretty dark so I'd rather not leave it in.
Gracias.

only way to drain converter is to put a hole in it.i have done this with a very small drill bit.you then need something to fill the hole.tiny holes can be filled with a spot weld or you can seal a small rivet in place with epoxy.normally only try this with stock type converters, never tried it with a balanced performance converter.spot weld method should be ok(wont throw off balance)

This is what i get for reading the fsm before dropping the pan, lol. It says drain the damn converter... so i thought i should drain the damn converter. But after doing some research i guess most dont have drain plugs these days.

Thanks, 67 for the suggestion but i'm gonna say f it, i guess the converter dont need draining.

ya,normally you dont need to drain them.if the fluid is really dirty you could have a shop flush the trans with a machine, but that can cause other problems if trans has a lot of miles on it.
