Convt Top Gaps in Corners - Normal?

Original top on my 67 Belv. The trim is more square than 68+ and there's gap in the corner. Not as big as the OPs

You really got me wondering, so I pulled my 70 Coronet of the lift to check. There is a gap at the corners on mine.

The white spots on the B5 blue paint is a reflection of the clouds in the sky. I have never gotten water in the trunk when washing the car, but have find some water in the convertible well boot after a heavy wash. I'm sure a good top shop could do something to close up the gap. But its kinda like the door gaps on a factory car. The factory gaps were never perfect. But if you take it to a high end custom shop, they could make them all perfect 1/8 inch gaps but its going to cost. I'm happy with mine the way it is. Don't forget. Convertibles look better with the top down anyway!

Certainly the case on B bodies.... Some convertibles look good top up or top down.... Not really the case with 68-70 B bodies... Top down for sure..

Although, I been to a couple local car shows, when it started to rain, I put my top up. A bunch of chevy convertible guys, came over and commented how the car looked like a vinyl top with top up, compared to their chevy's.They also couldn't believe the car was pretty quite while driving with the top up. Theirs all had alot of wind noise.

UPDATE - top shop glued some high density foam between top & window curtain. Gap is supposedly down to 1/4”. I can live with that. THANKS EVERYONE!

Mine has gaps too. The installer bragged about how nice he got the corners. Now that I see others, I’m not impressed.

I now own the red 68 Satellite in the video. The top material is tight right up against the bottom of the trim, there is not an air gap. No water leaks either to the inside. I had a 69 Road Runner before this one and it fit tight against the trim also. Here is a pic of the passenger corner on the red Satellite.

@PurpleBeeper Can you post some pictures of what your top looks like after the shop glued the foam between the top and window curtain.
