I've seen original advertising saying the 383 70 Superbee came with an unsilenced air cleaner like the 69's did, but I've been told all HP v8's in 1970 had the dual snorkle type air cleaner ( all without ram air ) so does anyone know?

I had a 69 Charger R/T S/E 440 with a snorkel type. I just recently looked at a run down one owner 69 Charger R/T 440 and it has the snorkel type. My buddy in HS had a 70 RR 383 and it had a snorkel type. I don't know what to tell you other than nothing is carved in stone when it comes to auto manufacturers.

I don't recall seeing a 70 with an unsilenced breather on it. The 70 driver's side manifold has two holes in it for the heat riser. Once upon a time (at least around here) IF you had a 70 with the holes in the manifold but didn't have an air grabber or the dual snorkel breather you couldn't get it inspected (because of the missing accordion tube)

Here's a good link to some air cleaner identification information.

I'm looking for the correct one too. My 70 bee came with an incorrect unsilenced aircleaner. I'm looking for the dual snorkel. According to all the literature I've read and the link, I have to look for one with a straight crease in the snorkel to make sure it's a 70.
