Correct fuel tank sending unit for ‘73 Charger with 440

i am replacing my fuel sending unit on my 1973 Charger. Does the 1/4" tube get blocked off or should I put a hose on it for venting?

Block it.when you fill the tank at max capacity the fuel goes higher than that tube

Is it an original 440 car? If so it connects to the 1/4" return line from the fuel separator. If not a 440 car either add the return line, (helps with vapor lock). Or like Nacho said block it.
