Does anyone know the P/N for the horns on a '70 GTX? I've got a guy trying to sell me a pair, but I'm not sure what I should be looking at as mine are MIA. Tried searching online, to no avail. Thanks
Wish I could help you...I bought the 'alleged' repop's from Year One about 10 years ago, and I didn't like them. They were Bosch branded, great horns made of PLASTIC, but Oh so wrong for the car. I have been using a '70 Roadrunner horn without the decal for at least 10 years now.
I have mine sitting at home. I think they are original. I'm in the top end at the moment visiting my young bloke, but I'll be back home in a couple of days. So if you haven't found out by then I'll check back and let you know.
The P/N for late 60's early 70's are vague in the Chrysler parts book, they list the same P/N for some years and models when clearly they are not the same. The 68 and 69 i believe will be the same for non RR and the 70 will be different. I believe the 68-69 are spartons and the 70 will be prestolite which is what the 70 Cuda Challenger used
So I'm looking at a couple of Sparton horns, one marked low and the other high. The high horn is quite a bit smaller. For the price I think I'll grab them anyways.
Sorry Baller, mine turned out to be aftermarket ones. Looking on my parts list for '70's it just has 2808 869 for high note and 868 for low note. Hope that helps you. Cheers.
