Could Chrysler Be Killed This Friday?

What will Fiat Chrysler Automobiles call themselves after they kill Chrysler?

The new Charger/ Challenger are supposed to be based off of the Alfa Romeo Guila, which is car of the year thus year, so expectations will be high for thise cars. Hopefully, there will be a 300 in the plans as well. The Pacifica seems to be a great platform, as I'm starting to see quite a few out there now. I think what has killed the 300 is the lack of an SRT

That would ******* suck. That's what happens when you sell American Institutions to foreign interests, it just doesn't have the same meaning (effort?) to them.

I wish I could say it'll make our cars more collectible.

I've owned four Dodge trucks all 4x4's; a 97 1500, '91 2500 (I still have for plowing) then '02 Dakota and another Dakota Laramie '05 I have now. The Laramie is just great, AWD, leather, heater seats, etc. Too bad the fenders rust out; but then I see Fords and Chev's with the same friggin problem. All of them great runners and sold them running strong. Obvious I'm a Dodge/Ram guy and always liked the style of the trucks over the others. The Dakota is a great size for most of what I need it for being a bit larger than the Ford's/Chev's smaller size trucks. They should a kept the Dakota's.

The current Charger & Challenger are based off the old E-class Benz from 2 generations ago & they are severely long overdue for an update. I guess we'll find out what Fiat has to offer.

This is the first year I've seen more Challengers on the road than Camaro's. And it seems like up here Ram is selling much better than Chevy's and Ford's. I'll stop at a light and they'll be 3 or 4 Rams and none of the other brands.

I agree with that. I see the same things. There are just so many car company's today that the automakers must pick a market and specialize in it. The US brands have always been good at making large vehicles, trucks and SUV's, and low cost performance cars. The Asian brands have specialized in reliable, low cost and fuel efficiency. Europe builds "driving machines".

Chrysler has never been good at building compact, fuel efficient, reliable (Asian) cars better then the Asians. Chrysler builds great trucks, off road, and rear wheel drive sedans that slide sideways with smoke billowing out the wheel wells.

I'm not sure about Volvos and English cars, but in the case of German cars, they have over complicated electronics and you'll have to take out a loan to get them repaired..

Agreed. I had a 2007 Audi S6 with a V10. It was a great driving car for long trips, for sure. BUT everything was expensive and overly complicated. To replace a leaking oil pressure switch was a 10 hour job, requiring removal of front bumper/radiator support assembly and the intake manifold.

Mr. M says it's nonsense. Chrysler isn't going anywhere. New midsize truck a possibility as well as Ram Trx

Looks like Chrysler sticking around. FCA's focus will be on the Alpha, Maserati, Ram, and Jeep brands, plus creating a new financing arm of FCA. Chrysler, Fiat, and Dodge will stick around, but will not receive the same budgets or marketing as the others. Hmmm.

So, in other words. They are dead!

Piece's of chit!

Yeah, so nobody's going to buy a Chrysler or Dodge, but they'll be tripping all over themselves to run out and buy a Maserati or Alfa Romeo ? This guy's delusional.

He's not looking at the local US/Canadian market, but the global market.
