Major F-up. Just finished building 500 stroker for my 1970 Coronet R/T and I cracked the passanger side rear mounting lobe on the block. I had the crack welded, but I don't trust it and would like any suggestions on alternate mounting points and any pics would be great. I dont want a mounting plate or elaphant ears. I'd prefer to run a rod with a bushing from somewhere else on the block. I never saw this done, but if anyone out there has, I'd love to hear about it.

Thanks

With a quality repair you have no worries:icon_sunny:It's one of many attachment points, you'll be fine.

I've seen a few with that same particular ear broken. But no problem, it'll be ok.

I have to agree with above. I had a broken ear on my big block Challenger and it was welded up. No issues if done right.

My 440 block has a piece missing off one of the ears but it still has some of the hole left where a bolt can go through. I did nothing.

as mentioned above if it was done by a talented welder there should be no issue.

I agree with all the post welded or not it will be OK.I have even run the left side broken with no trouble.and that's the side that takes the torque.so do you need a bar to hold it NO..............Artie

Exactly as everyone has said, don't sweat it especially if it was welded! :D

I broke one myself and had it welded. I have not given it a second thought. It has been 10 years on my 600 hp 440.

I have one broken on the passenger side because the previous owner put a long bolt through two holes. As stated earlier either weld it or forget it, I am not going to weld mine back on. If it was on the drivers side then it would play a much greater roll.

Yeah Red, that's exactly what I did. So stupid. live and learn- sometimes the hard way. Thanks again all.
