just wondering who has done or added what to their cars to customize them
I am looking at some design ideas and was hoping to get some new ones
pics please!

like what? big *** meats , scoops, stripes, turbos, paint, fender flares?

anything that is getting away from the factory restorations.
body mods, dash mods, customized seats, fender flares, tail light panels, grills
not really interested in the whole engine swaps or paint, as that is not exactly the kind of "custom" im looking for, if that makes sense

I installed a plastic 'egg crate' grille in a 66 Belvedere back in 69. It came out of an overhead light fixture from an elevator :D Installed aftermarket gauges and wheels from a 69 AMX. Another car got body color bumpers. My present car (another 66 Belvedere) is being cleaned off of all body trim and the holes welded up and lowered about 1 to 1 1/2" lower than stock with larger rear tires, roll bar, high back seats and a few other things. Thinking about raising and extending the rear wheel openings just a bit....

Do a bad a$$ aluminum headed high HP/TQ engine, better trans, trick front suspension, wheels, steering, narrowed or mini tubed rear axle, 4-bar/link or ladder bars & coil overs or super stock springs & adj. pinion snubber, adequate cooling system, fiberglass/carbon fiber body panels, blower, turbos, big tube exhaust, headers, hotter ignition, custom wiring harness w/relays, custom gauges, trunk mounted batteries, custom bucket seats & console, better shifter, custom paint color change... Just no fuzzy dice or fender flairs....

Got rid of the factory woodgrain across instrument panel & replacing it with alluminum & large Pro Comp gauges. Plus it cost less than getting old gauges refurbished & they should be more accurate than the factory gauges. Seems like they jump out at you, plus you can place them where you want them. You just cant polish the alluminum 2 much because of glare. Il see if I can upload a pic of it later.

For some reason I cant get a pic of my homemade gauge panel to load here. There is a pic of it in my gallery. Its not the best pic I have, just the only one I could find at the moment. I put it in the car to trial fit then removed it. It looks better in the car & I replaced all the woodgrain across the entire dash with alluminum also. I made it out of scrap alluminum so the only cost is in the gauges themselves. Plus they should be more accurate than the factory ones.

i am looking at possibly doing a fiberglass dash, anyone on here done that?
i do like the idea of adding in aluminum pieces, on account of i would like to try and mimic the original dash, just sort of update it, or bring it into the modern age, well, the good side of the modern age.
i like your gauge panel lowhound, very clean!
as for gauges, im looking at some autometers right now, i like how you can customize them to your liking. anyone have advice on these?
and no, there will be no fuzzy dice, though, my wife knit me a set of mario mushrooms that i might put in there :p
anyone ever shave off all of the stainless trim on their cars?

and im sorry, but there will be no superbird wing on it........maybe

I doing a custom dash wrapped in carbon fiber with new gauges. A "custom" paint job. It's just new colors and a few touches to make it my own. Then once it's all done I plan on doing twin turbos or a Procharger. I'm also going to tint the windows just a tiny bit.

The first thing I did was move the driver's seat back three inches. I'm 6'6", and now I have the legroom Plymouth never gave me. :)

Not real fancy or real custom but did the white gauges on my 69 RR with white 2-5/8" aftermarket gauges.

My old eyes need huge gauges lol

That's a nice gauge panel, I like the white, I was thinking about doing that except with silver back ground... Heres mine still haven't installed them, too many other things to do still before the underdash...
