I'm looking for info on an intake he ran.I believe it was a small block chev intake that was adapted to a bb dodge.Does anyone know of this or has pic's?

I can't imagine anyone would even attempt to try that. Chevy intake has water passages, big block Mopars don't. Besides there were far more different intakes for bb Mopars than Chevys.

I know of someone that adapted Hilborn BB Chevy injectors to a BB Mopar.

Call Musclecar Station in Ft.Scott, Kansas if you want more information.

I'm not saying I want to do it,just remember something about it.And at the time I don't think we had many options for intakes at that time.It could have been a victor jr. intake cut and adapted. My brother has seen a converted chevy,I'm hoping he can get pic's.

Small block chevy to big block mopar. Port size and spacing are close. Simple spacer will do it. Maybe take off the water passages. No cutting necessary. Wasnt that uncommon.

Thank you,I was beginning to think I was loosing my mind.

Im at a LOSS on this,
To me, it can not fit....in my stupid realm of sanity and reasoning.
That being said, any time I say: "It'll never happen" OR "It cant happen" is when...quite simply..it happens!

I just thought the dimensions for a 265/283/327 manifold are much narrower than a MOPAR 483 OR 426, perhaps a 361.
Gee, to me the design of the Chevy is narrow (manifold) and Mopars are like Pontiacs, WIDE.

But, I'm ALWAYS wrong...

So, here goes:

-Chevy small block: (Chevrolet SB) 265, 283, 302, 307, 327, 350, 400 Pitch: 4.40” Port layout: 00 00

-MOPAR: B/RB : (Chrysler B/RB) 350, 361, 383, 413, 426, 440 Pitch: 4.80” Port layout: 00 00

So in conclusion:
1. PORT Layouts are same
2. PITCH error is differential between Chevy 4.40" AND MOPAR 4.80"
VERY CLOSE
(The bore pitch (the center-to-center distance between adjacent cylinders in the same bank) must be similar. Gross differences will cause a fatal mis-alignment on three of the four ports in each bank)

The adapters take care of the transitions. Thats hot rodding! Last i heard of someone doing this was a 383 powered challenger. Twin turbo street car running well into the 8s. SD Design Concepts I think. Look em up.

Anyone else seen adaptors for mounting a sb chevy intake, onto a sb Mopar?

Daddy's Toy from the Pittsburgh Pa area ? If so I'm sure I'll kill the spelling of his last name. His name is Wes Liepold..I believe he and his son are still racing a late model SS/GT class Chrysler Sebring. Some one may have his contact info. The owner of Painter Motors in Nephi Utah races one of his old 64 SS/A Savoys.Maybe he knows.

Didn't think about that.I know Phil Painter,I will ask him next time I see him.I remember when he got that car.

Good luck, Hope you find him and what you are looking for. He did very well with Daddy's Toy. Bought some parts from him way back in the 70's.After 40+ years met up with "Fast Eddie" last year. He raced a 65 Hemi Belvedere in the Pittsburgh area.He is still building engines and completed a friend's Max Wedge. He is doing a Poly build for him now with the new stuff advertised in Chrysler Power. Thanks for the memories !!! Old racers never die, and their stories just get better with age.

Back in the day when high end Mopar intakes werent plentiful it was more common than you think. There are currently adapters to install 429/460 Ford intakes on a Cadillac.
Doug

I remember them using a Street Dominator intake as it performed better in the Super Stock racing at the time?

May 1990 issue of "High Performance MOPAR", Wess Leopold (spelling), Edelbrock Victor 4x4 intake on a 383. Used the intake because he wanted to keep the stock hood on a Dodge Mirada, raced SS/GTM.
(I'm taking this information over the phone)

last year i picked up a dp6b for a friend of mine. he's going to adapt it to a 455 buick. hot rodding used to be about innovation. glad to see it's not totally lost.
