Dads 68 charger!

IMG_0564.jpeg

Welcome aboard, nice to see another 68 being saved!

I'm sorry for your loss but as you work on your dad's car, know he is with you and will always be in the passenger seat wherever you go.

You might want to put a personal item of his in your car as well.

Keep up the great work!

You’ll be smiling when it’s all done..

Thanks for the idea! I will!

Started taking the front apart today. Using a laser I leveled the car to the datum. Got the doors where I like them. Also dot lined a bunch of measurements to the floor.

I’m still not sure if I’m going to tackle both frame rails at the same time. I’m thinking I’m going to start on one side, bolt the k-frame in and mock the fenders and hood up just to see if I’m close.

I’m going to try and save the lower radiator support and shock towers.

No turning back now! I’ll start mocking up the passenger side to see how things fit before starting the drivers side.

that's how I'd do it....... bolt the K to the existing rail, to locate the new rail.......then the other side

provided it was never hit in the front; which might change things

mock all the front metal including the front valence, it helps flex the fenders into shape...... the gaps change if the fenders are just hanging there

nice work! :popcorn2:

Sounds good! Thanks for the advice. I’m going to need every bit of it. It was hit in the front so nothing is a given on this one. The passenger side took the hit. Hopefully it didn’t transfer much to the drivers side or the K- member. It X out ok with a tram from what I could tell.

Starting to come together! I had to burn a patch in the torsion support. The AMD stuff fits nicely. You have to cut and modify to get a good fit. And you can never have enough vice grips doing this stuff! I’ll fit the hood, fenders, valance, and whatever I can to make sure it’s right.
