Damn, brakes suck.

Is this car back on the road?
I just ordered the Dr Diff front kit yesterday.
My 11inch drums were out of spec to be turned, so I took the plunge to go front disc.

How out of spec were they? I went to .100 on a pair of 10x1.5's because I couldn't find any of those dog gone things. Only reason for that was I needed to drive the car and I didn't have an 8 3/4 to stick in it but even going to .100 over, it still didn't clean up all the grooves however, they worked fine. I even tested them last one night. Believe it or not, they didn't warp or break lol. They built in a pretty large safety margin back then.....

One drum had a bevel cut into one edge that my friend who manages a local brake shop said was really not worth turning. To answer your question the drums were approx 0.070 over the spec to be turned.
I needed an excuse to do with a disc conversion, but I really did try to stay with drums.

Car was back on the road and it stopped great. That Dr. Diff mc was the ticket for sure
