Just looking to make sure I'm on the right track before I drop the cash.
I have a Dana 60 on my 69 RR. I don't know if it was an original b body Dana or if it was from another vehicle and adapted to the RR. I have not opened and inspected the carrier but I jacked the rear end up and spun the driveshaft... Rotates out to be 4.56 gear limited slip.
So I'm looking to change down to a 3.54 gear limited slip.
It appears that the carrier break is 4.10/4.56.
My understanding is that I will need to replace the carrier with a 3 series Spicer Trak Lok? Then just purchase a 3.54 ring and pinion (recommendations on brand?), carrier install kit (bearings, shims, ect..) and new axel bearings?
I'm going to have a shop do the work to change it out most likely, but I wanted to buy the parts myself. Is there any critical parts that I'm missing? Are all Dana axels all the same spline count? Is there anything I need to confirm inside the diff before dropping the cash?
Experience and advice is appreciated.
