my 64 Polara has a Dana 60 rear end. The information on the axel portion of the unit is all missing. There is a 60 in the casting and another set of numbers C34155 also cast into the rear end. Just curious if anyone knows what that means. Thanks....

Does it have provisions for a Pinion snubber?? That will at least tell you if it's originally from a truck or a car

Nothing on the axle tubes...... and where would the Pinion snubber be located?

There would be a machined surface just behind top of yoke with 3 tapped holes for snubber. Truck dana's don's have machined surface. As said post #3.

Ok this Dana 60 does have the snubber mounting pads. So it came out of a car but since the info on the axle tubes is missing there is no telling which kind of car........ appreciate the help....

Measure axle width, housing width and spring pad width. Then do a search for Dana 60 width charts. First use the search box in the upper right corner then search web if no hit here.
