Dana 60 Socket?

1984 Dodge 4x4 with a Dana rear.
C30255 and 291B cast into it.

What socket size is this hub nut?
What's that U shaped thing at the top?
I do not see it in the exploded view.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I've searched the interweb and other forums, seems like there is bad info everywhere, and I noticed no one ever clarifies what Year/make/model, or even what rear, or if semi or full float, etc.

Your diagram is of a semi floating rear axle. The picture is of a hub from a full floating rear axle. Some 3/4 and all 1 ton trucks have full floating rear axles.

The diagram shows both semi, and full float designs.
The u clip appears to be the lock, pull it out and may be able to spin the nut off by hand

Its a locking nut. Nylon impregnated.
