Dangerous question.....lol

Seems like everyone here has the issues pretty well pegged, although I like the body side molding if I'm gonna drive it much. Maybe even consider painting the bumpers white? I prefer a flat hood too. What about painting the grill a dull silver or gray to try and mimic the original finish? Spray bombing the bumpers and grill aren't big outlays of cash and will make a dramatic difference in the look.

i say chrome bumpers flat black the hood with a 340 wedge decal on the front hood corner like some had and loose the side moulding strip and add some black 340 stripes down the side and wa'lah a new personality..

this is crazy, the car looks great as it is..... i cant believe it hasnt sold already .... sucks that you are thinking about changing stuff just to catch the eye of someone, i personally think the car looks pretty damn sharp as it is.. obviously not a #'s matching car, but who gives a **** .... and there is plenty proof of its mechanical ability !!!

Well it seems that what people hate the most about the car are the (obvious) engine compartment and the bumpers. I can't understand why someone would have changed the color on this car, and not paint the engine compartment the right color. But they did.

Anyone know of a good chrome shop in the Greensboro area?

Don't feel bad about the car not selling. The ones that have are few and far between. I have been working with people that have fantastic Mopars for sale and have not had 1 call on them. I had a friend have a guy fly in from Olahoma to PA to see his car, spent the whole day from airport pickup to having the car on the rack for inspection, to long discussions and back to the airport and got "I'll let you know".Now this car was better than new and the price was about half the cost to build. Did not sale.
Truthfully right now cars are not moving at any price be it $800 or $80,000
You have a good car there just the timing is wrong.I hope things start to improve soon.

I must be selling stuff to cheap or i just got lucky.Sold 2 in the last 3 months and not $500 heaps either.Emails and the phone ringing steady on the last one.Could have sold it 4 more times. It left for Iowa friday.

I see decent cars selling in the 4K to 8K range. Nice desireable cars like big block 66-67, small block 68-70 and 340 A and B body cars up to about 12K.

I'm not talking ultra rare or ultra perfect, but mostly correct or tastefully done street cars.

A guy I work with bought a 61? Chevy full size wagon last week. 90% there, running, driving V8, rusted out tailgate. needed paint. Asking price was $6500. Hope he didn't pay that much.

I Bid 2500 (planned on going to 35) on a 75 Scamp with a sweet 440. Nice paint, a little wavy. Car sold for 4K.

Down the street is a 66 barracuda. Powder blue thick paint with stick on scoops. It's at a buy here pay here for 8K. That ain't gonna sell.

If I found a car like either of mine, with the same options, that was running, driving and had good quarters and decent paint, I'd proabably be willing to pay up to 15K.

They did the same thing with the '75 Dart I had. Gave it a top quality paint job and left the engine compartment the original light green metallic. Detracted from the nicely detailed 340 that was in it.
