Dash emblem removal help need



71 sat air cond...

1...does the dash have to come apart

2.. Are they a press fit or some kind of clip or nut on the back ?

3... Is it attached to the paneling part ?

4..does the paneling part have to come off dash to change emblem ?

Remove the glove box
With a stubby Phillips reach up behind the woodgrain insert and remove the 5 screws.
Remove insert.
You'll see that the emblem has 3 studs. Carefully push on the studs removing the emblem from the back.

Being an A/C car you might have the remove the ash tray also.

PS... IF IT IS JUST PRESSED IN ..I WONDER IF A GUY COULD JUST SLIDE A PUDDY KNIFE UNDER THE OLD ONE AND LIFT IT UP THEN PRESS THE NEW ENBLEM IN ?

Chances are you'll break it. There are metal barrel anchors round the studs.
