I believe I need to replace my harness due to melted wires from the igntion switch that I've traced further back into the harness. I've looked online at Yearone but their photo and description is lacking. These harnesses are expensive and I'd like to know what the new harness covers? Has anyone replaced their harness on a '68 and have any detailed photos?

Much obliged.

I've got a set of M&H for my 68 Coronet new in packaging at home, I can get you some pics on the weekend if that's what your after?

Mine just showed up for a 69 Charger. They are nice harness'. All the main wires are included along with the bulkhead connector and fuseblock. You will have to reuse or buy the tach, reverse light, heater, acc. lights, console stuff.

Thanks, yes, would be interested in any photos. Assume it includes ignition socket wiring?

Thanks

i just did my whole harness in my roadrunner. i used one out of a good doner car though instead of buying new. my car was totally hacked up with aftermarket gauges and everything else. pretty self explanatory, a good factory manual don't hurt.

The Mopar harnesses sold by Year One are made exclusively by M&H, which are as close to OEM as you can get. The quality is outstanding. I have one here that I will install in my '68 Satellite to replace the original as soon as I swap the new motor and interior sometime after winter. If you're wanting NEW wiring, I wouldn't go with anything else other than M&H. Again, the only way to buy those is through Year One who distributes it for them. Word of warning - those things go on backorder for months sometimes. Order it now and if they have 1 in stock you are lucky. Otherwise it could take 4 months.

Thanks 68 Sport. has anyone changed out the harness without removing the dash? Though I'm sure much easier and less back breaking to do with the dash out, I'd rather not get into all of that...

it wouldn't be hard with the dash in the car, might want to pull the drivers seat though... :icon_pidu:

Although I re-wired my 66 Ply Sat with a complete new M&H Harness for the dash, Engine compartment, and front end, it is probably very similar to your 68. Go with a new one. It is well worth the price and eliminates the headaches of trying to cobble together a used one. I did the dash with the instrument cluster, radio, glove box, etc. out of the car and with both front seats removed. No one ever really sees the underside of one's dash so if I am not 100% correct in routing, etc. then no worries. Everything is working correctly since the replacement so I guess I did it right. But for the cost of the M&H harnesses, it is the only way to go. That being said there are some decent after market kits out there that will work just as well. My advice first is get a wiring diagram...preferably in color...to help with the project. Cannot go wrong either by having a FSM {Factory Service Manual}
