On the recommendation of a long time friend of mine.

I finally did the dash lighting upgrade
Actually bought the bulbs maybe six months ago or more.
Finally took the time to swap them out.
AND WOW, what a change

I did leave the blue bulb sockets in the cluster. btw

Both pictures are taken in the exact same spot on the light switch brightness level,,,,,. aka All the way up

Once I have it out at night this week or next,,,,I think I'll have to dial it down a little bit. And they do in fact change intensity as I roll the dial

Used these off Amazon - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B079L3WBDN/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

Lots of light but even your original bulbs look brighter than mine. I put the Superbrightleds in my 67 a couple months ago and they brightened it up considerably, although I don’t think they are as bright as some that I have seen posted, or yours. They do work very well with the dimmer however. Still need to put them in my 66.

I put them in my 67 with factory AC when the cluster was out. Did you have much trouble reaching the bulbs in the installed cluster from underneath on your 66?

The are 6 bulbs to change. 4 maybe 5 of the six are not bad. The one in the lower center towards drivers side. ( below the speedometer ) Is TOUGH.

Took me about an hour and half to change them all

Looks good Bill. Did you do the turn signal indicators as well?

I did not.
I need to do shift indicator and console tach. Dont have enough bulbs for turn signals as well.

I intended to replace the one in the radio too, but just about impossible on an A/C car without pulling the radio which is not easy with A/C. And then there are the added gauges and console right below it. Left and the console bulb for another day. Fortunately they are pretty bright in my car.

Leds are such a nice upgrade. I know some people doesn't like it cos it is not original etc...
But I can put on every light in the car including the headlights and the Amp meter does not move....how is that for saving that electrical system.

In pinball machines conversion from incandescent to LED reduces the play field temperature 15 to 20 degrees. It's a great upgrade, but LED quality is very inconsistent.
