I am trying to get my lower dash and the switch panel off to clean & paint I have all the screws out but its still hanging on, any body know how this comes off? do I have to take the dash out to remove? It seems like it should come right out but it must be screwed some where and its really hard to get up in there under that left hand side of the steering wheel. If you know the secret please help! This is on a 1969 b-body Plymouth, Thanks in advance! CD:munky2:

The switch panel is held in by the dash pad. Which unless it's got some in it you'll have to remove the dash pad from behind. I redid my switch panel last week with paint markers, because like you said there isn't much room to find the bolts behind the dash. But it turned out really nice. Good luck!

so does that mean?

You were able to remove the lower dash panel without removing the dash? if so how many screws were there and where are they located? thanks for your help. CD the right side seems to wanna come out but not the left side.

The switch panel comes out first. If you remove the bottom nuts from the dash pad and loosen the 2 nuts from the steering col. you will gain a little wiggle room. The switch panel usually catches on the dimmer switch coming through the hole in the dash frame. Just be careful you don't break the switch. There are 7 or 8 nuts holding on the lower dash pad. Take your time and you will find them.

Sorry no I left it in place and painted it. If you are able to remove it, be careful the right side is sharp and can scratch your dash pad.
