What's the story with dash vent systems on the 64s? My Polara has chrome vents on the kick panels and it looks like extra vents on the top of the dash, but no A/C. What option was this? Are the parts worth anything? Thanks

They aren't worth 2 cents!! Now for real deal on those.....they are worth a fair amount if they are in really good condition. I've seen the top dash vents fetch over 100 bucks on ebay, so take that for whats its worth. The kick panel vents are pricey also, again, depends on condition. I'm not sure why they are in/on a car that was not equiped with a/c, so someone else on here might have an idea.

A/C vent only. Someone changed out the dash? Removed the A/C? As 5.7 said, can bring decent coin if real nice condition.

I don't know, but from what I can tell the car never had AC, maybe an owner just wanted more venting. lol That's fine though, they are in great shape, and they will be sold off to fund my engine build. :icon_kidra:

Post pics of the vents, I would like to see them.

This car has them check the kick panel

Is the dash frame itself something special? I have a spare that I can use if I were to sell it.

Look at this picture ... see the large triangular shaped hole in the firewall above the trans tunnel ... it you have this on your firewall then it an original A/C car ...

Well how about that, it's an AC car. Everything forward of the cowl is gone. Good thing I have a spare non-AC heater box and dash frame. Would you patch the hole or just make a blind panel?

Personally I would put a removable cover over the firewall hole and call it a day. I would also leave the dash in place ... the installed vents work just fine for defrost and you can adjust the air flow from side to side on the windshield. Also ... they do flip up ... putting heat towards the back seat passengers ...

For what I will use the car for, I'm not that worried, esp if I can make some money off the parts. The most I would ever use is defrost, otherwise I would save the time of rebuilding my spare, non-AC heater box. This is a budget build maxie clone, if there is such a thing.

LOL ... sounds like you have a great plan!!! Good luck.

There are some of those vents on eBay right now so you can see what they are going for ... or should I say what people are asking for them. I think an uncut A/C dash is probably the more valuable item.
