Dead dog in duct

I'm in the air duct cleaning biz. Usually when people call, they ask price. Some ask how its done. Occasionally i get an odd request. Like- i dropped my cell phone in the register opening. Can you get it out? Or, we just bought a house that was vacant. And racoons left feces in the duct. Today, a guy calls & asks, what would you charge to clean one duct ? I asked, one duct ? He replies, yes, our dog got stuck in the duct A YEAR AGO, and still stinks. We want to get it out.
Definitely one of the more unusual calls!

I would give my life for my dogs. Thus ******* asshole let his dog die in duct. What a cruel and slow way to die!
I say either somebody was crank calling you or you should notify authorities and thus prick gets a fine!

I once had a client call a year after we completed their Kitchen remodel complaining about an oder coming from the vents. He accused us of leaving something in there. We discovered a skunk had somehow torn off a crawl space vent screen and got under the house then made a nest between the duct insulation wrap and the duct itself. Not our fault but nasty none the less.

No, he was legit. He described how they took duct loose in the basement, in hopes it would come out. And after describing where it was, he was upset that suggested i'd need to cut drywall & duct to access it. Then was upset that i wouldn't clean only one duct. What floors me is that he would wait a year.

Does it matter if it was a small dog or a Chihuahua ? I don't think so, is a life of a Gods creature and the poor dog deserve respect have a terrible dead.

You know a week after the dog died the smell would have been so bad you wouldn't have been able to live in the house. A year later there shouldn't be much oder left at all, at least not as bad as when the carcass was really ripe.

What the hell was going on when the dog first got trapped? Im sure it was wining, wanting help, barking? Nobody does anything? Letting the dog starve to death? He should be sited for animal cruelty. Some people just aren't right
