No Snow for the big Chi-Town eh? That's strange! Still remeber those pic's you put up a couple years ago with your house basically buried. I'd say this winter is panning out a bit more normal than last year...we'll see. You get bored this winter buddy, take a trip up north. We'll blaze some trails and visit some fine establishments to keep the cold from sinking in

Like everything else;condition is key. They do tend to hold their value if in good shape,and the early models are highly desirable. That guy on the Kitty Kat? A 6'2"/230lb.+ plus former Michigan State Police officer and a good friend. And a well-known collector of rare Arctic Cat sleds. One of the people who got on my case about riding my '74 El Tigre after the restoration. You'd be surprised how well that little thing moved with his big ol' butt(Sorry,Doug-LOL!) on it.

good one. last year i bartered my 8ft 3pt hitch blower to a buddy with a long lane-way for hay for the donk's. he used it once and i used the back hoe maybe twice. free hay for about 3 yrs and maybe 10.00 in fuel i used. lol

Tornado on a roller-skate brother.....Rolling out 175 HP with the add on's, dry weight 425 Lbs. About 2.4 HP per pound. Put that into relation; your '68 GTX at 3,600lbs would be at 8,640 HP.

I have no idea how i'm not dead yet..LOL Sure going to have fun doing it though.

the last t-cat i had dynod 192hp at the crank and still a couple of more tweaks. no more dyno, its hard on a 2 stroke. do the math on that ratio lol

have fun buddy. i still have one left, 600 triple, it won "hay days" in its class many moons ago. forgot to mention "for sale" ooops, its not a trail sled.

hey prop; thanks for the memory"s. castrol syntech 2 stroke oil, PERFUME, to me on the trails. 110-112 fuel, more Perfume, at the track.
haven't been on one for about 8 years since i smashed my hip. my dealer, so-called, buddy, keeps offering me one for a week or two to see if i can or not. prick. he knows there would be a sale after. lol

nice machine. i never had much to do with twins. i use to put anywhere from 6 to 8000 miles yearly. usually a new machine every 2 to 3 years max. it becomes a way of winter life for a while.

I got these hoping to make winter more bareable. I still hate it. The yamaha will lift the ski's at 60. Can't imagine what the new sleds feel like.

Well.......Just hang on really really tight....lol I've done a lot of work to try and keep the ski's on the ground on the 800R. Most would think a guy would build it to go the other way, but these sleds now days are just Brute Monsters. Nice Yammy, buy the way. I remember when those were the latest/greatest sleds to have. Good machines. Those Polaris XLT's are great machines as well. Not going to win every race, but just an all around good reliable sled. Pulled Polaris out of them Indy days.

I've had good luck with the Canadian built Ski-Doo's Shag. My 800R needed chassis work/reinforcement in several different areas to stiffin her up, clutch cooling issues to remedy and a better track, but all in all a good sled. I know ski-doo was trying to make the lightest sled and with the most power possible when rolling it out the door. The wife's 2001 MXZ 600 was honestly more sturdy right off the bat. I was an Arctic Fan for years...then they started having some problems in the 90's and it seemed I spent more time fixing them than riding them. I heard they really turned that around though. I have a buddy with a '00 Thundercat. like's it, fast..but heavy for my taste. Curb weight on it is around 675lbs. He's still rides the heck out of it and i'm sure i'll be seeing the sled in a couple weeks when we're tearing it up on our annual carnage cruise. He's got M1100 Turbo SnoPro as well. Wicked fast.

Sonny hates snow, except for deer huntin'. I had a sled or 2 ,,,just a pain in the,,, & Something else to "store". 'ya can't just have 1. I live on a trail and a lake and don't ice fish. I just deal with it, I'm looking forward to spring.

We used to go to a town call St Donat and rode the mt laurentians trails up labidor city down the magpie we spent two weeks the first time and went back 4 more times...some of the best riding I have done in in my life we covered so much ground it was amazing.....we also spent a fair amount of time in Hornpayne very nice there as well...All my riding buddy's got out of it so now I have the sled and no one to play with....

I grew up in the snow belt (Massachusetts) but moved to the south in 63 for good. I like to be able to drive my hot rods and ride my bikes and go carts all year long and I can do that. I also used to surf all year round even tho Galveston isn't considered a surfer's paradise lol. And the drag strip is still open here

Cochrane to Hearst.....Yep in 96 I was running a 1995 efi 580 sled that got 95 miles to the tank...that didnt work out well for me that nite......we stayed at the hotel / mall/post office/ everything else they had stuffed into that bld...that bar in the basement was non stop...the ZR900 loved those long wide trails.....cruse at 90 then blip it up to 110 just for the hell of it...GPS the sled at 118 took a pic of the speedo wrapped past 0....bad thing the wife took the film in and saw the pic before I could come up with a way out.... Dammit now I have to make one more trip that way...

i have heard about these and what i hear is crazy fast. as a matter of fact a couple of our old posse have converted over from others to it. i remember when yammy was the first out with the turbo. in the 500 ft drag tracks they didn't quite make it due to the turbo not spooling up fast enough. the 2 strokes would get such a jump at the line that they couldn't catch up. once they got on the trails they would get at it. we had a couple of 1/4 mile ice tracks and they dominated for a while. my last t-cat was a constant 125 mph + - on the 1/4. with your *** what, 2 ft of the ice. the only form of steering you had was leaning your weight. a to be younger again. lol lol "it would of taken a good mortician to get the smile off your face"
the 600 race zrt in the barn i kept thinking my grandson might get the bug. not. 2nd year university on a medical scholarship for rugby and he doesn't even have a drivers license. wtf is with these young lads today.

were on our 5th or 6th day of "measurable snow" this year, started around Thanksgiving, it's going to be a wet winter here in Calif. Eastern Central Sierra's... we've had rain mostly for about 20 out of the last 30 days, the rest a few snow days, a couple of really nice 70* sunny days too...

A couple of weeks ago here in central Ohio, we had about a foot of snow , and all the kids that we knew brought thier sleds over here to our new place and went sledding down the hill. Why do ya think the kids call this "Sled City" now? Need any fiberglass for your 62-68 Mopars? Call me.
