How does one determine a legitimate 65 Dodge 426 street wedge car? I am looking at a 65 coronet hardtop with a 426 wedge motor, but do not know how to tell if it is legit. Thanks very much for your help

Does it have a fender tag? If so, the engine code under the AB will be 80. Other things to look for are front sway bar and evidence of factory dual exhaust; will have factory hanger brackets up above rear axle. I believe the additional dual bracket is bolted on by 4 bolts near the rear seat belt mounting bracket(cant remember exactly though).

11 inch brakes all the way around also. If it doesnt have a fender tag and you go ahead and get it you could go through Chrysler Archives and request the IBM card to verify or confirm engine. I did this with a Grand Spaulding 426 wedge 65 coronet I had. When are you going to check it out, not a gold one is it?
