I recently picked up a '67 GTX to restore. Everything seems original but when I mentioned to a buddy of mine that the car has a tilt/telescoping wheel and cruise control he said that he had never seen a B body that early have those options.
So has anybody out there run across this before, or do I have a fake?

Been driving mopars since 1964 and never seen a tilt/telescopic or cruise in a 67 GTX or R/T.....check the build sheet,if available,or fendertag

So somebody would have had to steal the parts from say an E body car and graft the wiring into the harness?

Never saw an E body car with tilt/tele either.....

telescopic sounds like an imperial column, pics please!

I got the GTX from my from my father in law (actually it belongs to my wife, but on here I'll call it mine!) and all I can say is that he went through a lot of work to make it look factory. All the brackets to the cruise control unit, and cable brackets look as though they came from the factory.

I went to google and found the same picture you have here, that got me thinking about the Chrysler 300, thanks for the help.

With Ma Mopar anything is possible, could well be factory, but I have never seen one. Steering wheel and column do look to be c body.

Yup and if you know the right people, that's partially true today even but the only way to know if that car came from the factory with that column is by the build sheet....and a 67 model should have one somewhere in the car.

tilt/telescoping was not an option. It's been added.

Points for taking it from the least offensive donor car, style wise plus points for making it look factory and for using all Mopar parts.

It's possible the cruise could have been dealer installed. That's an early stalk, and I've seen those on 69 and 70 B body cars.

Cruise is fairly easy to retro fit and IIRC all the different body lines used mostly the same parts, save for the stalk change in 71-ish.
