Diesel oil.

I use rotella in my isx 15 liter because of the zinc levels. When it comes to Cummins the more zinc the better.
I'm using the Rotella in my 2004 Dodge 2500 Cummins. 300K plus miles no problems. I also service the transmission every 30K miles and it's still running strong and has never been rebuilt.

I got 807000 on mine but it's a 15 liter

I use Rotella on the old cars, still has more than enough zinc for stock valve springs. Diesel oil still has the junk in it for a couple reasons but zinc is needed for the severe load. Diesel oil just means it’s got plenty of stuff in it for severe service and it’s not suitable for catalytic converters.

They should call it diesel and old car oil.

Next we should talk about frequency of oil change. I drop the oil in my cars annually in the fall no matter the miles. Usually less than 750 per car. That VR1 and Penn Grade oil gets pretty expensive.

Actually my 2004 Dodge 2500 Cummins had a catalytic converter on it when I bought it new, but it was only on it for about a week.

Brad Penn oil name changed to Penn Grade 1.
Same oil different name because they were
bought out

My 383 lived on Rotella 15- 40 for several years. Last year the 67 got a 440 along with new comp cam ect. I used brad penn break in oil for the cam / lifter break in and 1st few miles.
Now its also back on rotella 15 - 40 but I now add a $9.00 bottle of lucas zinc additive at each oil change just for insurance. The lucas may not be needed I just like having it in there.
I think that bottle of zinc aditive will last 4 oil changes
