I picked up a 68 RoadRunner the other day and the Vin is RH21H... Whats the Diff between a RM21 sedan and a RM23 coupe RoadRunner?

21 is a post car 23 is not. Pillar post that is on the rear side windows

i believe a SEDAN has 4 doors...a COUPE...has 2 doors and the rear windows dont go down....a HARDTOP...they roll down

RM 23...roll down back windows.
RM 21...pop out back windows.

RH ???? ....not sure what that is unless its a typo

Never heard of a Road Runner with pop-out windowes that's got an 'H' for a 2nd digit. 'H' stands for High and a pop-out window car is anything but a high price car. Are you sure it's not 'M'?

MINE :)

It's not the H or M it's the 21 or 23 that makes the difference between a coupe or hardtop. And I have a 2 door sedan 66 Belvedere....but most call them a 2dr post.

Ok thanks for the pics... I have a post car... Also it had the decals Plymouth put in the glovebox for the new owner to apply the 3 black and white birds... Is it common to find that? When I seen it I figured it was a repro set but it's def vintage decals...

Here is the REAL story for Mopars.

Sedans, 2 door or 4 door have the same boxey roof line. They both have a frame around the door(s) window. Look at the pre-68 cars and you will see what I am talking about. They also share the same windshield and rear glass.

Coupes, Have no frame around the door window. The 68-70 coupes share the same roof line as the 2 door hardtops. They also share the same windshield and rear glass.

Posts, They BOTH have a post between the front door and the rear window.

Both are referred to as POST cars but there is the differences I have stated above between a coupe and a sedan.

The short explaination is a post has a hardtop roof line and a sedan shares the roof line with a 4 door.

The previous owner might have bought them years ago thinking he was going to paint the RR sometime down the road.

Lol

1st is sedan or post car second is hard top...pretty easy to see on the 66-67's

Sorry if this has already been covered... A Sedan has a frame around the window on the doors & B-Piller posts, a B-Body RR {RM21}, Sat., Belvedere or Post Coupe has the B-Piller posts, pop out rear windows, no frame around the door windows, a Hard Top RR {RM23} & others has no B-Piller posts or frame around the windows & both front door & rear windows roll up & down...

What is a Duster considered as? :D If I'm not mistaken, it's also a coupe and so are the E bodies with fixed quarter windows....

coupe/sedan.....?

I realize you must be referring to Mopars.... coupe/sedan.... In which case the coupe has pop out rear windows and a "B" pillar...and a sedan (both 2 and 4 doors) have frames around the door glass.

The industry description of a coupe usually means a vehicle with little or no passenger or cargo area behind the front seat, generally concidered a two or three passenger.

A sedan is larger with a rear passenger seat and frames around the door glass, both two and four door models.

An A-Body & a Challenger or Barracuda...LOL..... 2 door Hard Tops if there is no frame around the door windows & a Coupe if there is a B-Piller Post
