Hello, there is most likley a million threads about this but i was just wondering the differences. There is a boat near me that has a 69 440 in it and i was thinking too grab it. i no the water pump is different, change some manifolds... but yea can it go in a car is what im asking.

Thanks alot Rich

Single screw boat? Should be no problem so long as it's not a reverse rotation engine and even if it is, it still can be used but things like the cam, distributor etc would have to be changed...

Haha yes single screw from what i have seen. If is a original 69 440 that runs and i can get it for free i guess its a win, even though its a marine engine.

I believe most Marine engines are HD parts, like those in an HD truck engine. Should be a good find.

For free....sure and get it. So what if it's reverse rotation. That can be changed easily enough. The short block isn't any different. I wonder where the pistons are located in the bore....?

Mostly the Marine stuff is good, nothing wrong with it, just make sure it was a fresh water cooled motor.
some where even better than the auto motors
