Difference in length between crank bolts?

Is there a length difference that I'm unaware of between the 66' 318 and 77' 440? Just trying to understand after measuring and ensuring threads are perfect still not working out for a brother.

Small block bolt is usually longer, like the Slant 6. Big block bolts are usually short.

Had a /6 in a 74 pickup that came without a crank bolt....and that was the way it was supposed to be as I found out later.

correct. apparently it is longer but question remains by how much?
